Hurricane Milton to Bring Damaging Winds, Life-Threatening Storm Surge, and Heavy Rainfall to Florida

Milton has intensified into a major hurricane and is expected to make landfall along the West Coast of the Florida Peninsula early Thursday morning. Hurricane, Tropical Storm and Storm Surge warnings have been issued. Well above normal temperature are forecast yet again. There will be just enough moisture around for a few virga showers or sprinkles during the afternoon, mainly over higher terrain areas. While measureable rain is unlikely for most spots, gusty and erratic winds could accompany any shower.
Except for partly cloudy skies and a few mountain sprinkles today and Wednesday look for warm daytime temperatures, light winds and generally dry conditions through Friday. Could see southwest breezes more befitting of fall develop on Saturday.
